Terms of Service

Last updated: June 7, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the MeetPilot Chrome extension and its associated backend service. By installing or using MeetPilot, you agree to these Terms.

1. Service description

MeetPilot provides a tool that captures Google Meet's native closed captions and produces a transcript, AI-generated summary, attendance statistics, and a searchable meeting history. The service consists of a Chrome browser extension and an optional self-hosted backend component.

2. Acceptable use

You agree to use MeetPilot only in meetings where you have the right to capture the caption text. You must comply with all applicable laws and Google Meet's terms of service. You may not use MeetPilot to record audio or video, to impersonate another person, or for any unlawful purpose. MeetPilot is a productivity tool — you are responsible for how you use it.

3. No warranty

MeetPilot is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that transcriptions will be accurate. Google Meet's caption interface is not a public API and may change without notice, which could temporarily affect MeetPilot's functionality.

4. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the MeetPilot project and its contributors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service. This includes but is not limited to loss of data, missed meeting content, or decisions made based on AI-generated summaries.

5. Intellectual property

The MeetPilot source code is made available under its open-source license. MeetPilot is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or associated with Google LLC. "Google Meet" is a trademark of Google LLC.

6. Termination

You may stop using MeetPilot at any time by removing the extension from Chrome and deleting your backend data. We reserve the right to revoke access to the backend service for violations of these Terms.

7. Changes to terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the extension or the project's website. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
